The $3.5 Billion Caribbean Mega-Resort

It took 4,000 laborers, $3.5 billion dollars and almost 4 years - but Baha Mar, the Bahamas' new luxury resort, is about to open at the end of March.

Located 10 minutes from Nassau’s international airport on 3,000 feet of beachfront property there are five luxury hotels with a combined 2,200 guestrooms, 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, a 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, a 100,000-square-foot casino and a 30,000-square-foot ESPA.

Oh, right, there are also 40 restaurants, 20 acres of beach and pool areas, art galleries, bars and clubs.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is in April while the Grand Opening will be held in May.
